a. Many bad things happened after World War I. Four monarchies were created: the Ottomans, Romanovs (Russia), Hapsburgs (Austria & Hungary), and the Hohenzollers. World War I weakened the power of the United States, and depression started. The New Old order was shattered, and people were physically scarred from the war.
b. World War I defined the course of the century. No other war has changed the map of Europe so dramatically: Four empires disappeared, it brought many old regimes crashing to the ground, imposed a series of peace treaties such as the 1919 Versailles Treaty, genocide emerged as it lead to World War II, the use of poison gas on the battlefield, etc.
c. It lead to World War II, it and established the World Order during the Cold War. Europe rose in power and soar, it was one of the great powers of the world. Europe also made moves to establish itself as the world leader with the magnanimous plans to shoot down the United States.
